THCa and THC are both compounds found in cannabis, but they have distinct differences in their effects and properties.

    1. Chemical Form: THCa is the form of THC present in raw cannabis. It doesn’t produce psychoactive effects. When cannabis is heated—through smoking, vaping, or cooking—THCa converts into THC, which is the compound that produces the "high."

    2. Psychoactive Effects: THCa itself does not cause a high. THC is the psychoactive component that leads to the euphoric or altered state commonly associated with cannabis use.

    3. Medical Benefits: Both THCa and THC have potential therapeutic uses. THCa is being studied for its possible anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties, without causing a high. THC, on the other hand, is known for its pain relief and appetite-stimulating effects, and it does produce a high.

    4. Usage: To experience the effects of THC, cannabis needs to be heated. Raw cannabis or THCa-rich products will not have the same effects unless they are decarboxylated through heating.

THCa in its raw form does not get you high. THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the precursor to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound that causes the high typically associated with cannabis. THCa itself is non-psychoactive and does not produce any intoxicating effects.

Hemp, which is a type of cannabis with low levels of THC (less than 0.3% by dry weight), primarily contains THCa in its raw form. To experience the psychoactive effects of THC, THCa needs to be converted into THC through heating or decarboxylation, a process that occurs when cannabis is smoked, vaped, or cooked.

Not at all. THCa is naturally occurring on the cannabis flower and all of our cultivars are produced for maximum concentration at harvest. In some cases, less-than-ethical brands will apply synthetic compounds such as D8 and THC-O to mask poor cultivation. Rest assured, you'll find zero synthetics sprayed or applied to ANY of our products.
